From Boys To Men



  1. A priest performed a ceremony when boys were about fourteen to show that they had now grown up


  2. Children would also stop wearing the sidelock.




Girl to Women



  1. As soon as girls were old enough to have children of their own their family would begin to look for a husband for them.

  2. The couple might live together for a year to see is the wife could have a baby.

Egyptian Ceremony

  1. Egyptians had no wedding ceremony, and no special clothes or ring.

How Life Is Similar Now

  • If underage we have to get permission from our parents. Being that that the Egyptians married young anyway they also had to get permission from their parents
  • Just like now days you need legal papers to be considered married. They sometime wrote up agreements similar to the legal agreements made up today in order to be married
